Drivers Licence

All drivers should have held a valid drivers licence for five years or longer.  A current acceptable overseas, New Zealand or International licence is required from all drivers.  Overseas drivers with a non-English licence must carry an official accurate English translation or have an International Driving Permit.  At the Manager's discretion, a holder of a licence for less than five years is acceptable but may incur a higher insurance excess.

Rental Duration

A 1 day hire is 24 hours from time of pick up.  Additional hours are costed at 1/5 of the daily rate up to five hours and a full day thereafter.  Campervans and motorhomes duration is a calendar day.  Payment is to be made at commencement of hire by cash, traveller's cheques, credit card or debit plus card (please note that a debit plus card cannot be imprinted to cover the insurance excess, you will need a credit card for this).

Tax

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in all daily hire prices.

Insurance

For drivers 21 and over, the insurance excess* (deductible) is NZ $1,500+gst.  For hirers 25 and over, the excess may be reduced at the Manager's discretion down to NZ $250+gst for an additional NZ $10 per day on hires 4 days and over. 

Windscreen insurance is also available at NZ $4 per day on hires 4 days and over. 

*Insurance excess subject to change.  Please check with hiring location.  Excess and driver age may vary depending on pickup location and vehicle.

Bond

A credit card is required for all hires.  A credit card must be presented at the time of pickup to be imprinted on the rental agreement.  The credit card owner must be present at the time of collection.  We do not accept debit plus cards for a credit card imprint.

Early Returns

If you return your vehicle early you may not be entitled to a full refund of the unused hire period.

One Way Hires

Available between most branches, minimum hire days apply.  One way drop fees may apply.

Child and Baby Seats

Child seats are compulsory on New Zealand roads (up to 5 years of age) and may be hired from our branches.  Please order at time of reservation stating age and weight of child so that the correct size seat may be booked.

Cancellations

Cancellations with more than 7 days notice of commencement of the hire may incur a one day or 10% cancellation fee (whichever is the greater).  Cancellations made within 7 days of pickup, cancellation fee will be at Manager's discretion.
